Arts and Cultural Club was established in BKL Walawalkar Rural Medical College on 26th March 2023 and Dr. Adwait M. Godse, Assistant Professor, Department of Physiology is appointed as the in charge & mentor for all the activities to be conducted by this club.

The club has been named Mrudgandh ( ) as it indicates blissful aroma arising from soil as it meets first drops of rain, which indicates that all the arts & cultural activities of this club at our institution are strongly rooted in the rich heritage of our beloved motherland, India.

Objectives of the Mrudgandh ( )

To inculcate a culture of creative expression amongst students with emphasis on values of our rich Indian heritage of immense diversity & equality.
To tap hidden talent amongst students and nurture it for holistic development of Indian Medical Graduates (IMGs) passing out from our institution.
To provide an open platform for teaching as well as non-teaching staff members for their artistic expression.

So far, this club has mentored all the cultural activities conducted in the annual college festival, “Anubandh 2023”. Besides activities in Anubandh (which literally means a strong bond of Love & affection), Mrudgandh has also organized interviews of two of the stalwarts in Medical field: Dr. Shreepad Banavali, Academic Director, Tata Memorial Hospital and Dr. Sunil Nadkarni, distinguished Spine Surgeon & independent researcher. Both of these stalwarts have been associated with BKL Walawalkar Hospital & Research Centre for over 25 years and have thickly contributed in development of our organization into a respected name in field of charitable healthcare and medical education.

Mrudgandh has planned many activities for college students in 2023/24, which will be organized depending on the academic & examination schedule declared by MUHS.
